They deny that Man is a sinner and rebel because he was made in the image of gods and goddesses who were themselves sinners and rebels, who made man to be their agricultural slave to grow and harvest their food and feed it to them in temple sacrifices thereby ending the need of the gods to toil for their food in the city-gardens of Edin in ancient Sumer.

Raw emotions.

As I read Matthew's story I was able to relate, growing up in a Christian home can sometimes delay one's realization of just how real Christ is and how much we need him in our life. I was truly encouraged by Matthew's way of not hiding his past, I feel if we are all open to the call to missions more would go and not let their past stop them. Matthew's story is worth reading, I recommend it to anyone interested in missions.

Great book, fantastic (some REALLY funny!) personal stories, great book for anyone considering missions or for families wanting to inspire children as a "family read-out-loud book." Written to the "average person." Matthew writes from his heart describing a process - from being initially opposed to missions to living a life of faith. Highly recommend it.

great for learning about the myth

I gave it four stars because I'm sure it took alot of effort to translate and put together the most perserved work they possibly can. there are two issues i have with the book ; minor misspellings but it doesn't completely ruin the flow while reading, and since the tablets the book is copied and translated from are old pieces of the story are story are missing but this doesn't keep you from understanding the story. all in all i gave it a good rating because i don't think i could expect a more more complete version but i knocked off a star because of spelling. I apologize for not captalizing, I'm just lazy

About the Author

Ashok Kumar Verma is a professor in the Department of Chemical  Engineering and Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi.  He holds a BSc from Allahabad University, a BE in chemical engineering from University of Roorkee (now Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee), an ME in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, and a PhD in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Dr. Verma joined the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 1984. Dr. Verma has authored or co-authored numerous papers in journals, and national and international proceedings.
